What we collect
We do not ask you for personal information and there is nothing on this site to sign up for. We do not set advertising or profiling cookies.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to count how many people read each page and which pages they arrive from. It sets a cookie in your browser and sends Google an anonymised record of the visit, including a shortened form of your network address. We use this only to decide what to write about next. We do not use it to identify you, and we do not share it with anyone.
You can opt out for every site you visit by installing the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.
Server logs
Our hosting provider records standard web server logs — the page requested, the time, the browser type and the network address the request came from. These are used to keep the site running and to investigate abuse, and are retained by the provider under its own policy.
Embedded content
Where an article links to an external site such as an official portal, that site sets its own terms and collects its own data. We have no control over what they do and this policy does not cover them.
If you email us, we keep the message so we can answer it and to maintain a record of corrections. We do not add you to any mailing list.
