Sri Govindaraja Swamy Brahmotsavam Begins in Tirupati with Grand Celebrations

The Sri Govindaraja Swamy Brahmotsavam Tirupati commenced on June 2, 2025, at the historic Govindaraja Swamy Temple, bringing joy and devotion to thousands of pilgrims. This nine-day spiritual festival, organized by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), features daily vahana sevas, rituals, and cultural events, culminating on June 10.


🛕 Festival Schedule and Highlights

The Brahmotsavam began with the Ankurarpanam ritual on June 1, symbolizing the sowing of divine seeds for prosperity. The Dhwajarohanam (flag hoisting) ceremony marked the official start of the festival on June 2.

The Brahmotsavam is a grand annual festival celebrating Lord Govindaraja Swamy, believed to be the elder brother of Lord Venkateswara. The festival signifies the divine presence and blessings of the deity, promoting spiritual well-being and prosperity among devotees.

The Garuda Vahanam on June 6 is considered the most auspicious event, attracting large crowds seeking the Lord’s blessings. The Rathotsavam on June 9 is another major highlight, where the deity is taken around the temple streets in a grand chariot, symbolizing the Lord’s procession through the world.
